jasmine-filled mornings,
evenings of cotton candy and fairs.
days went rushing for mangoes,
nights at the sight of first rain, books, and dried roses.
wandering into the past, I found a carefree spirit.
dancing on the beach,
and following the trails of the forest
singing songs to the trees.
recalling those summer holidays,
like it was yesterday.
didn’t know back then what it meant.
But I wish I could carry them in a basket.
